How can a sick baby have THAT much energy?

Alex is, once again, unwell. I have heard that sooner or later (preferably sooner) he will run out of viruses to catch. I am still waiting for that day to come. Poor little tyke. He has a very sore throat with red swollen tonsils. For 3 nights, he woke up with a fever and was almost impossible to pacify.

Chris took Monday and Wednesday off from work to look after him and I took Tuesday off. Today, he was home with me again. We thought he was better yesterday, and he seemed it, but this morning he woke up with a rash all over his body. The doctor says it is a viral rash and could have been brought about by the antibiotics prescribed by the doctor we saw on Tuesday. There isn't much we can do aside from keeping him hydrated and waiting for it to go away on its own.

For the whole week, Alex has proven that he has far more energy than Chris and I put together. Yes, truly! How can a nearly-11-month-old be so full of beans when his body is busy fighting off a virus?! I don't get it!

Okay, so that's the bad news - he's sick.

The good news is that he is otherwise a very happy little boy. he's learning to stand and walk. he just can't wait to grow up. He wants to be a part of any action happening around him. Just look!

He understands a few words but is not able to say much aside from "mama", "dada", "baba", "nana" and "ai yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee".

He thinks it is great fun to have a bath and gets very happy and excited when I tell him it's time for "chong liong" (Cantonese for "bath"). He also understands "hoi hao" (Cantonese for "open your mouth"), though he is not always co-operative. He clams his mouth and shakes his head when he does not want any more food and pushes his bottle, cup or bowl away when you try to coax him to have just a little more. He is also a greedy little gutz who can (almost) always be bribed by food - particularly with rice rusks (Baby Mum Mum) and arrowroot biscuits. He loves drinking out of Dada's glass and will drink almost anything out of there if we let him.

Again, no knitting, spinning or weaving here...

Poor Bubby Alex!
Hope he feels better soon!
The consolation is that he has less bugs to catch in school cos he's done the rounds!

TOO CUTE!

I know what you mean! I just spent Thanksgiving with my family and my 20 month old nephew who, despite his near pneumonia, was running around like a mad-child. Wore me out!

ooo he is a handful now. And oh so cute! I hope he gets well soon poor dear.

Awww... poor little Alex... hope he gets well soon!
